Integrating mindfulness into classroom practice: The Mindful Schools curriculum
The Mindful Schools Curriculum, developed by Mindful Schools in Emeryville, CA, brings mindfulness practices into the K-12 classroom, by teaching key mindfulness concepts and practices through the use of developmentally appropriate language for youth. Since its conception in 2007, the curriculum has been used in classrooms, after-school programs, and clinical and home settings by thousands of educators, mental health professionals, social workers, and parents in 50 states and over 60 countries.
Curriculum training is available through Mindful School’s Teach Mindfulness to Youth training program, a six week, guided online training program. Included in the training kit is either the K-5 curriculum (30 modules) or the middle and high school curriculum (25 modules), as well as student workbooks, teacher manual on facilitation and classroom management, and program evaluation tools.
